The Southern Economic Journal: An Emerging Influence in the Economic Field, Moves to a New Home at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Laura RazzoliniThe integrity, reputation and quality content of The Southern Economic Journal have made it one of the most influential economic publications in its research field today. Today, it appeals to a wide readership in academia, government and the private sector. The Journal is published by the Southern Economic Association (SEA) with headquarters at the College of Business Administration, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.

"Under Laura Razzolini's editorship, the Southern Economic Journal has become the most successful regional journal in economics. The articles include exciting applications of economics to public policy issues, along with solid empirical and theoretical advances. The Targeting Teaching section is widely read and discussed in the profession. This journal is the mainstay of the Southern Economics Association, and it is thriving under Professor Razzolini's leadership," says Charles A. Holt, The A. Willis Robertson Professor of Political Economy, University of Virginia.

In November 2004, Dr. Razzolini moved the editorial office to The School of Business, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. As Associate Professor of Economics she will continue to edit the Journal and continue her research interests in economic theory, mechanism design, and more recently, experimental economics.

The Journal features original, refereed scholarly articles in all fields of economics as well as contributions on the pedagogy of economics. It also contains occasional invited papers such as the Distinguished Guest Lecture and the Presidential Address from the annual SEA conference. Currently, SEA has approximately 1,000 members worldwide, and more than 1,000 additional institutional subscribers to the journal. It serves members of SEA and other readers interested in economics through the publication of book reviews and announcements. Founded in 1933, the SEJ currently publishes approximately 1,000 printed pages per year. It is abstracted and indexed in Journal of Economic Literature, Social Sciences Citation Index and others.

The Journal's new address is Laura Razzolini, PhD., Editor, Department of Economics, Virginia Commonwealth University, Box 4000, Snead Hall, School of Business
