SCHOOL OF BUSINESS FACULTY ACTIVITIES
December – January 2004
Some exciting news in January was the publication of an article
on School of Business' proposed new building and campus. The
interview with Dean Michael Sesnowitz, Dr. Charles Gallagher and others was published Monday, January 19 in the Richmond
Times Dispatch. It resulted in a pick-up by Associated Press and several
reprints around the State, including one in the Daily Press,
Hampton Roads. Reprints are available of the article for further
distribution.
A School of Business ad entitled "Learn to Succeed" appeared
in the January issue of Virginia Business along with an "Academic
Insight" by Dr. Sesnowitz.
Dr. George Hoffer, Economics Department
January – February In an AAA World article on "American
Made" In an era of multinational corporations and global economics,
is there any such thing as an American car? Dr. Hoffer quoted numerous
times throughout the article by writer Peter Bohr.

Economists Say" presenting a rebuttal viewpoint to a plan

January 9 - Book Signing at Richmond Border's Books store. Title
of newly published book is "Northern Ireland: Can Sean and
John Live in Peach?: An American Legal Perspective published by
Brandylane. Also good book reviews such as in Midwest Book Review.
Dr. Rasnic is currently on a Fulbright at the National University
of Galway, Ireland.She will present guest lectures at the law facility,
University of Limerick: law faculty at University College Dublin
(two), Equality Studies Center in Dublin, National Disability Authority
in Dublin, and American Institute at University of Warsaw (Poland).
Coming up she will continue lecturing at NJI Galway, two guest
lectures at the law school, University College Cork, one in Derry
(Northern Irelanad), three in Austria and one in Germany. In October,
she had the opportunity to monitor the European Union's report
on domestic legislation prohibiting discrimination on the ground
of disability.

Thank you, Dr. Dubofsky for your numerous quotes to
the media. For about the next year Dr. Dubofsky will be an "academic
economic fellow" with the Securities and Exchange Commission
(SEC) in their Office of Economic Analysis (OEA). Therefore he
will no be able to give quotes as he has in the past. It may
even have been some of Dr. Dubofsky's writings on mutual fund
timing,
etc. that brought him to the attention of the OEA.
