VCU SCHOOL OF BUSINESS – DECEMBER, 2002 FACULTY MEDIA QUOTES AND ACTIVITIES

Media commentary about the economy and holiday shopping offered good opportunities for faculty to be quoted on TV, radio and in print. Dr. Pamela Kiecker, Marketing & Business Law Department
December 11 - "Speaking to Emerging U.S. Markets", Hispanic Business Newswire, reviews Dr. Kiecker’s speech (same date) at the National Center for Database Marketing, Orlando, Florida. Older consumers are feeling younger and should avoid such common pitfalls as referring to 55 and older consumers as seniors, the elderly or the golden years, cautioned Dr. Kiecker.

Dr. Leslie S. Stratton, Economics Department
November 25 issue of U.S. News and World Report cited Dr. Stratton’s study on Household Specialization and the Male Marriage Wage Premium but unfortunately grossly simplifies comments made in an interview with writer Kim Clark.
