*** SPECIAL FEATURE: ALUMNI REMEMBER FAVORITE PROFESSORS ***

We are still happy to accept your remarks about your favorite VCU business professors at bus-alum@vcu.edu

Dr. William R. George (Marketing) was and is my favorite professor throughout my academic career. When I first enrolled in the VCU business school as an undergraduate, I was not sure which path I was going to take...advertising, marketing, or some other business specialty. I took the introductory class to marketing under Dr. George and was hooked for life. I found his teaching and delivery style engaging and thought provoking. His ability to spark discussions, challenge thinking, and encourage students to think through implications of both the strategic and tactical sides of marketing made the subject exciting and fun. I took every class I could taught by Dr. George while I was at VCU. And I took the lessons and education with me throughout grad school and ultimately through out my life long career in sales and marketing.

- Elizabeth Altman Bush (BS ’79), Falls Church, VA

Dr. Ann Robertson (Statistics), who has been deceased since the summer of 1989, should be remembered. I was a student worker for the Business Management Department, to which she was assigned, and I had "feared" taking her statistics class. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally had her as a professor. She was a "tough" teacher because she wanted us all to learn and succeed in the business world. I got to know her and she was a warm, caring and helpful professor. I was saddened to hear she passed away a year after I graduated. I am thankful to have known her and have often thought of her because she was one of those people that made me a better person for having known her.

Cyndi (Hart) Dunn (BS '88), Fairfax Station, VA

I had Dr. Dennis O'Toole (Economics) for my Money & Banking class while at VCU. I still remember that class as being one of my favorites and loved the "Big Thumb" lecture. Great Guy! Hope he is well.

Ron Evans (BS’96), Richmond, VA

Even though it has been 30 years ago, I can still remember professors such as Guy D’Genario, Robert Scott, Edward Coffman, and John Sperry who all had a tremendous impact on my academic development and preparation for Law school.

Eric D. Whitesell (BS’75), Tazewell, VA
