most "livable" communities in America. On April 20 the
Partners for Most Livable Communities, a non-profit leadership
organization announced its selection of large, small, mid-size
cities and regions that met their criteria for developing themselves
in the creative economy. Richmond was ranked 10th. Each of the
chosen communities have agreed to prepare for the new global economy.
Each took a novel approach to economic development, utilizing assets
such as arts and cultural resources, creative financing strategies,
cross-country partnerships, and collaborative leadership to re-animate
downtowns and develop their communities so that they become competitive
in the new global arena. Learn more at http://www.livable.com/articles/release42004.htm
