Members of the board of the Central Virginia chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) gathered to remember their colleague Theron Bell and to present The Theron P. Bell, III Endowment Trust to the VCU School of Business, his alma mater. Many of the board members are also VCU alumni.

Members of the board of the Central Virginia chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) gathered to remember their colleague Theron Bell and to present The Theron P. Bell, III Endowment Trust to the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business, his alma mater. The endowment will be used to fund scholarships for accounting students.
The Theron P. Bell, III Endowment Trust was originated by the Central Virginia chapter of IIA with profits of the 1990 Southern Regional Conference. The Trust was renamed in honor of Theron Bell in August 1992. Theron Bell was president of the Central Virginia chapter for the 1983-1984 chapter year. He was chairperson of the 1990 Southern Regional Conference Committee. His dedication, hard work and leadership helped establish the tone for the teamwork that made the conference successful, both educationally and financially.

The mission of the Central Virginia chapter is to promote the internal auditing profession and to promote the professional growth of internal auditors. The Chapter’s activities support the work and initiatives of The Institute of Internal Auditors. |
