Ms. Rebecca Jones
 

Rebecca Jones, Marketing Program Coordinator

Profile: Rebecca Jones joined the VCU School of Business as Marketing Program Coordinator in August 2009. Prior to working for VCU, she was managing editor of WORKMagazine, Creative Work Space, Urge Magazine, and Sports Backers Quarterly. Through writing articles for WORKMagazine, she learned firsthand what a vital contribution the VCU School of Business has made to the Greater Richmond business community. She was Coordinator of Teacher Programs and Statewide Exhibition Programming for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for six years. She has also taught English, journalism and Italian for Richmond Public Schools and at Saint Gertrude High School. She has lived in Richmond for 28 years.

Education: Ms. Jones holds B.A’s in art history and English from VCU and a certificate with honors in art history from L’Universita degli Studi di Genova, where she completed all course work and examinations in Italian.

Mr. Mussie Assefaw

 

Mussie Assefaw, MKTG Graduate Assistant

Profile: Mussie H. Assefaw, BSBA joined the MKTG team in 2009 as a graduate assistant. He is a native of Eritrea, which is located in the horn of Africa. He has traveled extensively and has lived in Eritrea, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. He is fluent in English, Arabic, and Tigrinya - his native tongue. He has professional experience in information services and faculty support.. He has been involved in the Spider Community Tsunami Relief and Habitat for Humanity.

Education: Mr. Assefaw earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Richmond in 2007. While studying for his bachelor's degree, he studied at the American Intercontinental University in London, England. He is currently studying for his MBA with a concentration in finance.

Mr. Alex Israel

 

G. Alex Israel, MKTG Graduate Assistant

Profile: Alex Israel, BS is a native of Marseille in southern France and was recruited by VCU to be a member of the tennis team. He was the recipient of the Robinson Academic Scholarship and the 'Black and Gold Award' from VCU for outstanding academic and athletic achievement. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French and has professional experience in management, advertising, and supervision.

Education: Mr. Israel attended the Business School of Lyon, France until May of 2005; he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from VCU in 2008. He is currently pursuing an MBA at VCU while serving as a graduate assistant in the MKTG department.

Mr. Ankur Oberoi

Ankur Oberoi, MKTG Graduate Assistant

Profile: Ankur Oberoi joined VCU in fall 2009. He is a native of New Delhi , which is the capital of India .He has been working as a business analyst since 2006 and has worked in the financial (Wachovia Securities) , retail ( COACH Inc.) and insurance ( Ameriprise Insurance) industries. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he served as a resident advisor at the university dorms and apartments and was a freshman mentor at the school of business. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.

Education: Mr. Oberoi completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 2006. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Information Systems degree from VCU and serving as a Graduate Assistant for the Marketing Department.
