Students should consider participating in VCU Student chapter of AMA and attend the events of Richmond chapter of AMA. We encourage student involvement in marketing related activities and educate them about opportunities in the field.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of marketing internships with an organization. The experiences will contribute to developing knowledge skills and abilities in a real-world environment.

Course requirements:

  • You must be a senior Marketing Major

  • GPA of 2.5 or higher

  • Preferably, the Internship is taken in the student’s last semester

  • Satisfactory completion of approximately 300 hours of employment in an approved marketing position

  • Maintain a journal summarizing your activities and describing the marketing activities of the company you are working for

  • Weekly updates must be submitted via email

  • Submit a Term Project report summarizing your employment experience and relating your previous marketing courses to your activities. A 10-12 minute PowerPoint presentation of this report is required.
