Designed for . . . A national program
for high school teachers who teach insurance either as a specific course
or as a part of another subject such as business, consumer education,
economics, social science, family and consumer science, mathematics, driver
education or other areas which include insurance.
Purpose . . . The purpose of this
two-week course is to enable you to become more effective in teaching
insurance. The Institute is designed to give you a detailed understanding
of all forms of insurance, with emphasis upon their relevance to high
school students and their families.
Virginia Teachers . . . The contents
of this course have been correlated to the standards of learning (SOL).
The topics covered in the Institute are integrated into courses in most
of your vocational programs, such as finance, principles of business and
marketing and business law.
