As a general policy, the VCU School of
Business requires the GMAT of all MBA
applicants.
However, for a trial period,
for the Fast Track Executive MBA
Program,
the Admissions Committee will consider
on a case-by-case basis, GMAT waiver
requests from candidates who fall
into one of the categories identified
below. Waivers, however, are not
automatic for any candidate, and
a brief written request must be submitted
outlining the reasons why the Admissions
Committee should grant a GMAT waiver.
Candidates who may request a GMAT
waiver are:
1. Those holding the following graduate
degrees from an accredited college
or university.
a. Medical degree
b. Law degree
c. Masters or doctoral degree
2. The applicant has an undergraduate
degree that includes significant
quantitative, statistical or mathematic
component with at least a B average
is such courses.
3. Those candidates who can substantiate,
through written documentation, that
the combination of their academic
and professional accomplishment makes
them highly prepared for success
in a rigorous MBA Program.
Checklist for requesting a GMAT waiver:
1. Brief, one-page maximum, written
request outlining why the Admissions
Committee should grant a GMAT waiver,
indicating the above category that
applies. This must be submitted to
the (by email or regular mail) Executive
Director of the VCU FTEMBA Program,
at Fastrack@vcu.edu
2. Copies of all transcripts for
work completed at any college or
university. Candidates may submit
unofficial copies, but any unofficial
copies must be followed by official
transcripts submitted with the application.
3. Current resume
4. Any further information that the
candidate wishes to submit to the
Admissions Committee in support of
the request.
